Fashion Frontier Challenge

This program runs over 12 months and begins with a global call for action followed by a rigorous, multi-stage selection process that narrows down the pool of several hundred applicants to the finalists. This group is enrolled in an intensive, five-day design-thinking workshop to further develop and refine their ventures and work with a pitching coach to build their final pitch deck. The process culminates with a grand final event during which the finalists pitch their projects to a prestigious jury before the announcement of the monetary prize winners.

Girls in Tech

This is a startup challenge for female founders. The program has over eight years of track history, providing funding, mentorship, media exposure, and exposure to a community of investors and change-makers committed to supporting female entrepreneurs. To participate, female founders should submit a video pitch for their early-stage startup and fill out a short application form on the YouNoodle platform. An esteemed panel of judges, composed of seasoned investors, professionals, and executives, judge the pitches from applicants. Winners of the challenge receive a cash prize to keep scaling their businesses.

BIGEE

This is a five-year program financed by the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB) with the vision to finance the economic growth of micro, small, and medium Jamaican enterprises. The project, which totals five different programs, aims to promote the sustainable development of startups and innovation while building a solid ecosystem for entrepreneurship. Depending on the program, applications go through one or two application rounds and several judging rounds to find the top applicants for each program.

New Venture Competition

This is a collegiate business plan competition that provides every George Washington student, faculty, staff, and alumni with real-world educational experience in developing, testing, and launching their startups, businesses, and social ventures. The program offers skill-building and experiential learning opportunities through workshops, mentoring, and networking. Successful applications are evaluated in four judging rounds, and the program culminates in an award show.
