Delivered as a Software as a Service (SaaS), WhichBox Media was founded by women entrepreneurs.

The Opportunity: Traditional Media is in peril. Ad revenues are dropping while audiences are migrating away from TV and print media and towards the web. Publishers had hoped to make up the difference by replicating their ad model online. This is not working. Newspapers, Magazines and Media Companies are being pressured to adapt their business models to modern realities: balancing paper and digital, evolving web demands, multiple destination platforms, deciding between free and pay walls, and the need to support more and more web verticals. Brands are under increasing pressure to find a meaningful way to connect with their audiences – and are being spread thin managing their presence among a multitude of social and niche sites and forums.

In June 2009 Dallas-based WhichBox Media launched its award winning Closed Private Beta program. Since February 2010 the whichbox™ Platform has been awarded an OnMedia 100 Award for its “game changing and disruptive” technology (and shares this honor with such companies as Facebook, Meebo, Hulu, Brightcove, Shutterfly, and more). In March WhichBox Media was selected by the 2010 Worlds Best Technologies as a featured presenter. In June WhichBox Media was chosen by youngStartup as a 2010 Top Innovator of the New York Venture Summit. The Metroplex Technology Business Council just announced Bettina Bennett as a finalist for the Tech Titan Emerging CEO award. WhichBox Media already has its first paying customers - to release their online publications in the next 2 moths. All of this while WhichBox Media was/is still in invitation-only closed private beta!
