ABOUT US
Village Energy (U) Limited is a company started in 2008 by Roey Rosenblith and Abu Musuuza in Kampala, Uganda. Our aim is to bring renewable energy, first in the form of small affordable solar lighting systems to the 80% of African households that currently lack electricity.
Currently households in Africa will use between 15-30% of their annual income on kerosene for lamps as well as phone and battery charging. Even though Africa has 1/6 of the worlds population, over 1 billion people, it only produces 4% of the world’s electricity.
Our company sells the Village Solar System which provides all of these services for a quarter of the cost that they would spend on the same services during a year. The primary components of the system will than last 12-15 years with only the battery needing to be replaced every three years for a very small cost.
