ABOUT US
The Rationale
The Global Microfinance Project is the world’s first and largest student-led effort to provide students all over North America with the opportunities, means and capabilities to actively contribute to the global fight against poverty.
Through this enterprise of a truly global scope, the University of Toronto’s Entrepreneurial Society will provide students all over, and even beyond, Canada opportunities to ameliorate the living conditions of thousands of individuals around the globe without spending very high amounts of time and money.
How it works
University of Toronto Students, as well as other High school students all over Ontario, will be made aware of opportunities to improve the living conditions of hundreds of thousands of people all over the globe by providing grassroot business actors in developing countries with the tools lift themselves and their families out of poverty.
We have partnered with the world’s student-led microfinance initiatives across the globe to ensure that the University of Toronto student’s impact one of a truly global scope. Such groups include Givology, Kiva, Students for International Development, Stanford BASES and Oxford Entrepreneurs.
Upon gaining membership to the Global Microfinance project, students all over Canada will be given access to a rich database of information on the opportunities available within the region of their choices.
