ABOUT US
Take me home,
the only greentech versatile bicycle on market, which listen your hart and helps you go home safety in emergencies.
Business Plan Executive Summary
Background:
You didn't take up bike riding because you are overweight, or have heart or breathing problems, that’s why you like to sit still, working hard, not going anywhere, and breathing stagnant indoor air under fluorescent lights and being bored out of your mind." Moreover, just riding your bike doesn’t work your core muscles, but you still want to look fit and have good health, so you may need even one indoor training bicycle, to work extra hard (upon heart capability) in order to keep your abdominals, back and thighs strong. Unfortunately, you did not find any versatile bicycle (indoor & outdoor use) on market, that fulfils both your fit & riding needs and ensure you take care of heart, breathing or health problems.
There is now a solution:
“Take me home” the only versatile bicycle (protected by IP) that uses the heart bit to electrically assist your pedaling effort and keep your physical effort within safety limits without diminish neither riding nor training pleasure.
The innovation named versatile bicycle, saves costs (combine two in one), generates or uses green renewable energy and gives a new unique value space to consumers; keeps perfect correlation between cycling effort and heart/pulse rate within predefined limits.
Take me home does not require huge & long-term capital investment for development & production; it has short investment return time (due to use of well-established manufacturing process and synergies with current bicycle industry).
Unique features for “Take me Home” versatile bicycle:
Used indoor for physical training and outdoor for regular riding.
Uses consumer’s heart bit rate information for assisting pedaling effort, neither indoor nor outdoor (the heart bit rate is wireless transfer to bicycle’s embedded DSP processor).
Correlates pedaling effort with computer generated virtual reality (indoor).
Recovers the human training effort, into green renewable energy (stored in into built-in battery) to use later outdoor for pedaling assistance.
Even people suffering of overweight, heart or asthma diseases may use safety, due to its embedded DSP computing power that gives safe and secure pedaling assistance (keeps always enough energy into battery to bring you home effortless in emergencies)
Real –world problems (P), disadvantages (D) with existing training & riding bicycles:
Many consumers have one training and/or one riding bicycle (D)
The training bicycle normally does not have wheels hence can’t be use outdoor (P).
The training bicycle does control the pedaling effort by wasting human effort energy into heat (breaking force)(D)
Consumer’s training effort (heart bit) cannot be automatically feedback to the built-in control/stirring computer, thus the consumer has to chose and run self the training program; overstress risk (P).
Normally between the training bicycle and an external computer or display, does not exist an active 2 ways feedback , nor possibility to record training/heart bit data, history for further analyze and decision by a medical specialist (P).
Training bicycles do not access Internet online-specialized physical training centers; automated data exchange is not possible (D).
The riding bicycles do not have such design that allows the user to use it indoor as training bicycle (P).
The riding bicycles do not have possibility for active feedback between rider’s heart bit/pulse and electronic control unit that assist pedaling effort (D).
Electrical motor assisted bicycles use only the external (grid) power to recharge the internal battery (D).
By contrary, the proposed versatile bicycle may push back into the grid the excess of electricity generate during training (when its internal battery is fully charged).
“Take me Home” does overcome all above problems/disadvantages and combines the training and riding bicycles into one versatile combo bicycle, controlled by heart bit to assist electrically the pedaling effort; for best comfort and customer’s wellbeing and full satisfaction
Marketing
Market wise, the versatile bicycle covers parts both of training and riding bicycle’s markets. The most target regions for this kind of versatile bicycle are Europe, Japan and US where people use often both training and riding bicycles and have more awareness about health risks due overstress. Beside majority with overweight and heart asthma, problems are people living in highly industrialized countries. According benchmarking study, those markets consume about 3.5 millions riding bicycles and mote that 0.5 million training bicycles (marketing analyze excluded professional and very advanced training and riding bicycles).
Based on internet search, discussion with retails managers and opinion test at different categories of consumers, it was estimate a potential market of 0.2 Million units’ versatile bicycles only during launching year with increase slope of 15% to 20% yearly. .
In Asia market, this kind of bicycle could be consider as niche/exclusive product due to already existing of huge number of powerful electrical scoters and bicycles.
The versatile bicycle will gain popularity in emerging-markets when its cost becomes attractive vs. normal electrical bicycles or if a local joint manufacturing alliance will be startup.
Marketing advantages and sale arguments for versatile bicycles:
Unique: Exclusivity on market (protected by IP)
Affordable cost: Less cost than two separate bicycles, scalable features
Consumer’s needs and wellbeing in focus: Heart bit rate monitoring, wireless data transfer, built-in DSP computer (regardless indoor or outdoor situations), safety training and riding, recording of data history, energy recovering and green product.
Internet access/communication: The built-in computer could interact (wired or wireless) with and an external PC that has internet connection; thus recall on demand medical training programs or virtual reality clips.
Consumer delightedness as virtual reality “atmosphere” during training: During indoor training, a virtual riding path accompanied by adequate sound displays on screen, it makes consumer feel good matching between pedaling effort and virtual terrain situation. During outdoor riding, the built-in DSP-computer correlates/assists pedaling effort with consumer’s heart bit/pulse for best cycling pleasure/comfort/safety.
Marketing competitors:
At launch moment would not be such unique product on market; after launching risk for copy may be considered. However, license agreement with well-branded manufacturing companies may protect us for such risks and give possibility to increase our market share.
Who will be the customers ?
Consumers who want to feel virtual riding experience/pleasure even indoor when have lack of time or it’s bad weather outdoor
Consumers who want use same bicycle both for training and riding; no mater of age or sex.
Consumers who are suffering from loco-motor, obesity or/nor heart / asthma disease but still love cycling.
Consumers who are lazy go exercise outside but still want keep good physical fit or want skip be lonely
Consumers who like new/exclusive good staff
Product, Investment, Service and Technology
• To start smooth and risk free the business, one needs to build five to ten advertizing/feasibility prototypes using 90% off-shelf components and invests minimal in specific customized parts (estimated 2000EUR for each handmade prototype, i.e. 20 000 EURO).
• One year salary for two or three full time people, to develop the business, manage the investment, marketing communication channels, prepare the supply chain, prepare manufacturing in low wage country (EU zone), check reliability/quality on prototypes and start promotional marketing via technical exhibitions & internet advertizing (estimated 4000EUR/month x 3 = 12000EUR /month i.e. 144 000 EURO/year)
• Six months up to one year salary for a top skill computer science consult; software package for DSP control boxes (estimated 6000EUR/month, i.e. 72 000 EURO)
• Miscellaneous, taxes, travel, rent of building, workshop and hiring of temporarily skills (estimated 15 000 EURO)
• The service and maintenance for prototype shall done as FAQ via Internet Company’s home page or replacing of whole unit in case of mechanical damage.
Estimated as total investment capital: 251 000 EURO (startup Company and run out first 10 -20 prototypes)
Estimated Return of investment time:
Estimated sale price for a standard “Take me Home” bicycle: $1000 to $12000
Estimated profit margin per unit at mass production (i.e. >200-300 pieces/month): $300- $400
Best guess to breakeven 5-10 months. (sale price $1000/piece, profit margin $300/piece)
Of course, requires hard work, reasonable level of wages, and low number of fix employed resources.
Upon business profit trend, we shall gradually grow, increase the production volume and do reinvest a part of profit into R&D for developing of new products according marketing demands
Who are the owners?
