ABOUT US
Any person who is currently in college or has graduated from college has probably heard of and used RateMyProfessors.com. However, RateMyProfessors.com has many flaws in its ratings that SyllabusCentral is designed to solve. Rather than relying on the biased opinions of other students on a professor, students can now go to SyllabusCentral and download a course syllabus before registering for classes.
From the course syllabus students can then form their own opinion on a class. Students can look at important factors like grading stucture, number of papers, presentations, and group projects, weight and number of exams, if class participation is part of their grade, the course description, the textbook, etc. Students will also be able to order their textbooks online before classes begin for the semester by getting the ISBN number from the syllabus.
The idea of SyllabusCentral is to build a centralized database where professors can upload and share their syllabus to connect with students before classes begin.
