ABOUT US

It is the local communities who have inhabited these lands for hundreds of years who will direct and define us. It is our intrepid travelers that will contribute to the well-being of our host communities. Given the remote locations of Suyana Hotels, the success of the operation will depend on a symbiotic relationship with the local community. The properties will be strategically located in rural, remote areas near small villages. Suyana Foundation, funded by the hotel’s operating profits, will define the scalability in social impact not only in terms of direct employment opportunities but also in terms of the ripple effect created in the local value chains. Investments in education, training, and technical capacity building will drive productivity, and new communication outlets will provide access to markets. By providing technology, capital, and microfinance we also make these communities more competitive, empowering local entrepreneurs. This economic development model is a critical component of our success and we recognize that building these sorts of relationships takes time. The impact will be for the long-term, deep and personal, true to Suyana’s mission.

Suyana in Quechua means hope. We believe this concept will not only exploit an underserved high-end traveler market, but also provide hope for thousands of villagers in remote areas of Latin America. Suyana Remote Hotels will succeed because there is something deeper and much bigger at play, a dream.
