Stantum Technologies

Stantum, formerly known as JazzMutant, has been the pioneering company of multi-touch technologies since Guillaume Largillier (CEO) and Pascal Joguet (CTO) started it up in 2002. Stantum’s mission is to provide innovative human-machine interface technologies to improve the way people interact with electronic devices, making it more intuitive, playful and efficient. In 2003, the first step to fulfill this mission was the development of the world’s first unlimited multi-touch screen being able to track an unlimited number of fingers at once.

In 2005, the company launches its first product called Lemur, a multi-touch control surface for audio and media applications, then under the company name of “Jazzmutant”. Becoming immediately a smash hit, Lemur, the first multi-touch product available on the market, has been acclaimed by the specialized press worldwide and adopted by prestigious artists such as Björk, Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, Richie Hawtins.

In 2007, in order to reply the ever-growing demand for multi-touch technologies in most sectors of the industry, the company launches its OEM Business Unit, which is meant to provide multi-touch solutions to third-party integrators. Stantum now designs and supplies tailor-made, integrated and cost-effective multi-touch solutions that precisely fit OEM customer’s needs. After a second round of VC financing in July 2007, the company has adopted the name of Stantum, while JazzMutant remains the brand name of the company’s music product division.

The company, which is headquartered in Bordeaux, France, aims at becoming the major stakeholder of tomorrow’s man-machine interface industry, strengthening its pioneering and leading position. To do so, the company can rely on strong assets.
