ABOUT US
SkillAddiction.com incorporates many of the successful features of the larger businesses, as well as adding in many new and innovative features of its own to make it unique and enticing to the consumer and flash game developer.
With the small amount of competitors in the current market, the Skill Gaming community is dominated by the larger businesses. We can see, from an ample amount of examples (e.g. Microsoft); that when 1 or a few businesses dominate a market, innovation and the consumer become compromised and stifled. SkillAddiction, during its short period of public activity, is already stirring innovation within the industry.
First, Skill Gaming is an immensely growing market. It is estimated that ~65% of internet users have played an online game. Considering that there are ~361,000,000 (internetworldstats.com) million internet users, to date, and growing, this is an astounding and opportunistic market. With Skill Gaming being relatively new, there is a great opportunity for new and innovative companies to come in and fill gaps that previous businesses have left unfilled.
SkillAddiction.com aims to fill these gaps, while creating new facets of Casual Skill Gaming never before incorporated into a skill gaming community. Our public beta launch was executed on April 1st, 2009, and since then we have registered thousands of members, hosted over 50,000 skill gaming tournaments, and monitored over 100,000 tournament game plays.
Our community has enjoyed thousands of dollars in prize winnings, with players achieving success in obtaining prizes, cash winnings, and casual gaming for fun in an immense quantity. SkillAddiction.com has enjoyed such a welcoming from its customers that users have created fan pages, external communities, and launched affiliate campaigns in hopes to continue its growth.
Our attractions are attributed to a few factors; the community (users, interaction, forum, and blog), casual gaming, game portfolio, and features. We had aimed to keep a continual and persistent interaction with our own gaming community; tapping it as a source for innovation and evolution. Through our own talent and community suggestions, we have evolved the SkillAddiction community into a place where users want to spend their downtime and play games, as well as earn cash and prizes.
Among the innovative gaming features that retain users are the; progressive tournaments, trophy tournaments, cash tournaments, and You vs. You Tournaments.
- Progressive tournaments are tournament that last a certain period of time before distributing a prize pool to a set number of winners, (currently the top 33% of players win a cash prize).
- Trophy tournaments are "bracket" style tournaments where user pay an initial fee to enter a tournament and play multiple rounds and multiple prizes awarded to each round winner. We also have a "Grand Trophy" tournament available for large scale tournaments of this type.
- Cash prize tournaments are 'head to head' or group (3-4-5- players) tournaments where a set number of players are required to play before distributing a prize to the winners.
- You vs. You tournaments are a first in Skill Gaming Exclusive to SkillAddiction.com. We have engineered a system where users can play a Skill Gaming tournament and instantly know the outcome of their game (whether or not they have won a cash prize). This has literally almost doubles SkillAddiction's revenue with its popularity.
We are currently in a development stage where we plan to unveil new Skill Gaming features to its users as far as tournament style and a brand new game style to captivate the users 'in between' time so they do not have to leave the site during 'downtime'.
An ongoing effort of improving the community system is underway and progressing as we improve the community and social activity features of the SkillAddiction community. Currently, we have such features in place to keep the community social, such as; Trophies (visual and monetary awards given to users when they reach a certain score in a game), a Newsfeed (continual feed of events about friends, updates, ect), a Wall (place to post short notes to your friends, internal message system, challenge feature (set up group tournaments with the players of your choice), and more.
An integral and competitive advantage of SkillAddiction is its ability to incorporate preexisting popular games for its Skill Gaming portfolio. Previously only extremely popular casual games were licensed to be involved in skill gaming, by the large businesses. However, this left, literally, millions of players and hundreds of popular games outside the realm of skill gaming. SkillAddiction has developed a system able to properly, and securely, integrate these popular games into our community.
- This has allowed us to grow from a 10 game to 25 game portfolio in the short period of 3 months. Solidifying us to be the 4th largest skill gaming community in terms of games within an extremely short period of time, (the most active skill gaming website released 1 game per month)
- We have tapped talent never before leveraged in terms of skill gaming, incorporating games that have received millions of game plays, high ratings, and a vast amount of followers.
- Established partnerships across many gaming platforms, categories, and countries; incorporating a portfolio of games that aims to please the large desire of diverse gaming community.
- Provided revenues back to game developer that have never existed before; catapulting an increase in desire to partnership with SkillAddiction at a rate that is exceeding our expectations.

- Premium Players represent ~15% of the SkillAddiction community

SkillAddiction.com has solidified itself in the skill gaming community. Players that contribute to the 'Big 3' (the three largest skill gaming websites) have praised our website and community setup, expressed how we provide advantages over the other companies, and are increasingly vocal about our game portfolio. With new efforts underway to continue growing the gaming and community features, we will surely capture more loyal gaming followers, increase our cash and prize output, and gain exposure in the Skill Gaming industry.
