ABOUT US
We started our blog-odyssey back in 2003 when we launched Tech Digest, the first gadget site aimed at Europeans and Brits rather than just Americans. Since then Tech Digest has developed into a bit of a monster with half a million unique visits each month. We can also boast a devoted readership that reads like a who's who of consumer electronics journalism, PR and marketing.
In March 2004 we launched Shiny Shiny, the first ever gadget blog written by and for women. Within a week, USA Today was raving about the site while International Herald Tribune was on the phone curious to discover who was delivering this unique perspective on technology. Since then the British press has also taken note and Shiny Shiny has been featured in The Guardian, Vogue, Time Out and many other places. It has since been widely imitated but never bettered.
In November 2004, Shiny launched its third blog, the wonderfully named Shoewawa, catering for women who are obsessed with shoes (that's a large audience!) In the same month Shiny went official when it registered at Companies House as Shiny Media Ltd.
2005 was a particularly big year for us with the launch of our flagship fashion title Catwalk Queen, a site which now attracts half a million readers each month. Handbag site, The Bag Lady and eco-friendly site Hippyshopper were also among the key launches in that year.
Title expansion continued in 2006 with World Cup blog, Who Ate All The Bratwurst, (later to become Who Ate All the Pies) and wedding blog, Bridalwave. In the same year the Shiny Media million network reached 2 million visits per month.
In 2007 we secured funding from Bright Station Ventures and further expanded the Shiny Media portfolio with two US focused sites, Shiny Style and Shiny Gloss. We also saw traffic across the network double. 2008 has seen further growth in traffic and a focus on developing our video strategy with three video players (ShinyFashion.tv, ShinyLife.tv and ShinyTech.tv) and a YouTube channel which attracts over 1 million views per month.

I have been involved in local search and data bases since 1999. I believe local search listings should be free.
