In the summer of 2005, Ibrahim Evsan and Thomas Bachem decided to begin working on their dream of creating an online photo and video community. By December they had come so far as to meet with a well-known German angel investor, Axel Schmiegelow. Together with the aid of dw capital GmbH as lead investor and along with several other silent partners, Ibrahim (Ibo), Tom and Axel founded sevenload GmbH (a German company with limited liability) in April 2006. By this time, Axel's role within the company had shifted from an active angel investor to that of CEO- his focus thereby was the further development of company's business model as well as building sevenload's growth and establishing partnerships with international IP holders. In October 2007, the company was able to add another pilar to the management team by hiring Andreas Heyden as COO. Andreas' role from the beginning has been to extend sevenload's content offering and push the company's marketing and sales activities. In the span of four years, Ibo, Axel and Andreas have together established a social media network that globally reaches over 20 million monthly unique visitors in more than 20 countries. Company investors are T-Online Venture Fund, DLD Ventures, Media Ventures and dw capital.
