SeeWhy enables you to build real time metrics, and generate real time alerts and actions directly from event streams, web traffic, or databases.
This real time analytic capability enables actions to be automated and optimized in response to business events. These events can be as simple as a combination of clicks on a website, to the absense of an expected activity, or a fraudulent transaction.
A good way to think about SeeWhy is that it analyzes data continuously as events happen – if you like it is event driven. So when a transaction happens, it automatically triggers calculations which assess the behavior of the customer, account or process to see whether the behavior represents a problem, opportunity or risk.
Essentially there are 4 stages:
Capture
Capture the data in real time or batch from websites, databases, middleware or business process management environments.
Analyze
Compare the transaction with what would normally be expected at this point in time, considering past behavior and the behavior of similar transactions.
Act
The results of the analysis trigger an automated response, which can be as simple as a follow up email, or an alert, trigger a promotional offer or initiate a business process.
Optimize
Finally, SeeWhy can automatically measure the outcome of the action in many cases, and using this knowledge optimize the different actions of similar transactions in the future.
