savefourlives - the campaign to end malaria

Stephen Kenning and Shaloo Savla, two Toronto-based graduates of the Richard Ivey School of Business and management consultants by profession, have both seen the devastating effects malaria can have – through their international experiences in Latin America, the Caribbean, and South America – and are passionable about seeing the simple and impactful bed net solution in place for their upcoming volunteer trip to Africa in 2008.

They were compelled to start savefourlives with a bold mission: to mobilize the business community to give back and create tangible, immediate, and impactful change in our global community – for a cause and in a place where it is needed the most. Initiated to raise awareness and funds to stop the spread of malaria, savefourlives has an ambitious goal of raising $10,000 to purchase 1,000 bed nets and save over 4,000 lives from malaria, over this holiday season. For just $10, savefourlives will buy, distribute, and explain the use of a LLIN to a family in Africa – keeping them safe for up to five years.

Stephen and Shaloo previously spearheaded a Tsunami-relief campaign in December 2004 that raised over $14,000 for the Canadian Red Cross in a matter of 3 days.
