Proteus

Proteus is a provider of mobile marketing products and solutions to media companies, entertainment brands, content publishers, carriers and other enterprises. Areas of expertise include mobile Internet sites, SMS messaging campaigns and entertainment content storefronts. The company launched a new direct-to-consumer product called Swift (http://www.swiftmob.com) in February 2008.

The company also still does custom project work for certain clients.

The company can claim some firsts in the mobile industry: the first interactive TV event in the United States using live-to-air SMS; the first working demo of a WAP site in the U.S. market; and the first Web-to-SMS gateway in the world.

Clients of Proteus include FOX, HBO, Disney, Universal Studios, ABC, National Geographic, Scripps Networks, THQ Wireless and ATT.

Proteus was founded in 1996 and is headquartered in Arlington, VA (just outside of Washington, D.C.) with offices in New York, Buenos Aires, Bogota and Mexico City. Its parent company is 2ergo, located in Manchester, UK (AIM:RGO).
