ABOUT US
Prosperity Candle is a for-profit social venture launched in March 2009 in collaboration with Women for Women International, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping women survivors of war rebuild their lives. Our mission is to build sustainable partnerships with women entrepreneurs in places of conflict to promote peace, stability and economic development. Our goal is to help thousands of women start scalable businesses that enable them not only to rebuild their lives, but to prevail, prosper, and generate sustainable employment in their communities. Six years ago we conceived an innovative business model that we refer to as shared prosperity. Simply stated, it is a candle import, marketing and distribution business that prioritizes social benefit to those most isolated from global commerce – women entrepreneurs in regions of conflict.
We have a highly qualified and committed team of individuals who have worked both together and separately to support artisan entrepreneurs in developing countries and conflict regions. As a group, we uniquely bridge the worlds of import-export, international development, women entrepreneurship, and social enterprise. We are passionate about our mission, and grounded in decades of business experience, business education, and strong professional networks.
