ABOUT US
China USA Travel, Inc. (www.china-usa-travel.com) is partnering with Dragon Trail, Beijing, China, (www.dragontrail.com), Miles Media, Sarasota, FL (www.milesmedia.com) and PalmLing, Philadelphia, PA (www.palmling.com) to create a web portal in China that will serve a coalition of states seeking to reach the Chinese outbound travel market. The company is currently has agreements with Minnesota, Virginia, Maryland, Vermont and the District of Columbia to participate in a China based portal that will promote each state’s features and attractions to outbound Chinese travelers. While the portal will initially be informational the direction of the portal will be transactional, enabling direct measurement of investment to revenue.
Portal Goals:
1. Minimum of 20 states agree to participate in the Coalition by June 30, 2012 (agreements as of 2/17/12: Minnesota, Virginia, Maryland, Vermont and the District of Columbia).
2. At least $1 million in ad commitments secured by September 1, 2012 as a condition for launching the portal in Q4, 2012.
Portal Strategy:
Use ad commitments to build the portal and pay Chinese social media networks to drive traffic to the portal. To create portal traffic China USA Travel is partnering with Dragon Trail, Beijing, China winner of Travel Weekly China’s 2011 Best e-Marketing Campaign on behalf of the Canadian Tourism Commission. At least 50% of the portal’s $1 million ad commitment budget will be spent on social media (the balance applied to building the portal).
