Livra

Livra.com is an online community of consumers where people write reviews about products, discover new stuff to buy and create and complete online surveys.

The company was launched in Buenos Aires in 2000 as a comparison shopping website for the Latin American market. In 2002 it started selling online panel services by giving market research agencies access to its user database, the new division was named Livra Panels and the companys business model was switched completely to the sale of online research services.

By 2007 Livra Panels had become the undisputed leader in online research services for the Spanish and Portuguese speaking markets.

The website was relaunched in May 2008 maintaining its main consumer reviews and survey focus but adding a variety of social networking features as well as its Picks feature that allows people to create their own surveys.

In June 2008 Livra was acquired by the Ipsos Group. Ipsos is the only independent, publicly-listed research company that is controlled and managed by research professionals. Ipsos ranks third among global survey-based research companies. The company has been publicly traded since 1999. In 2007, Ipsos generated global revenues of 927.2 million euros ($1.27 billion USD).

Livra continues to be run by its founders Martín Añazco and Diego Meller and it operates as an independent business unit within Ipsos.
