I Heart Movies

I Heart Movies (IHM) is a social movie collection database system. While that's a lot to say with one breath, we think we manage it all pretty well. Our mission statement is to provide the best features to our users while still maintaining the clean and organized design we strive to have. Our site is compromised of a few basic, but strong features that creates enjoyment for movie buffs or just the average viewer.

Online Friendships
When you're trying to watch a movie now, you probably don't always just randomly pick one out. You may look up reviews of random people on the internet. You may also like to read the reviews of critics. Just as likely though, is that you'll ask your friends how well they liked a film. You know your friends better than you know a random critic or person on the internet, so this usually turns out to be the best gauge of your enjoyment of a film.

Now, imagine that same method but in a digital world. With that you have IHM. Instead of calling up a friend to ask them how they liked a film, you can go to their page and see how they rated it. If you both have the same tastes, you'll know what to expect going in and maybe you'll be saved of wasting that theater money on a terrible movie.

Track Your Collection
Tired of telling people every movie that you have? Want to have people over for a movie, but don't want to waste time waiting on the best choice from your movies? Losing movies to friends who forget what they borrowed from you?

If you are familiar with any of those, you'll enjoy IHM's ability to track your movie collection. With our collection system, you can organize, rate and categorize your entire collection as well as mark who's borrowing what from you so that you never lose a movie again. You can just as easily link someone to your entire collection so they can see everything you have.

Interact With Movies
Ever run into that ending you didn't really understand or the movie you didn't totally get? Maybe you were trying to find the stars of the latest movie you watched so that you could see (or avoid) their other works. Possibly, you want to watch a trailer for a film you haven't seen much about to understand what a movie is about.

On the site, we blend information with interactivity. You can just as easily see the cast for a film as you can a summary like most data sites. Although, on IHM, if you don't like how a summary is written, you can write one yourself to serve everyone better. If you want to see what a movie is about, you can watch trailers for the film to decide how well you liked it. You can even find that actor you know so much about and write up a biography for them so that everyone knows their story. As you help yourself on IHM, you help the site and everyone that uses it. Also, every movie has a forum for you get together with others and talk about what you've seen.

IHM Summary
We are a group of students, programmers, movie lovers and all around socializers. We love using our site to create connections between people. We want to hear stories, complaints and ideas from our users. We want to be the place where you want to be whether you're the world's largest movie fan or you only catch a movie here and there.
