ABOUT US
1. Humanity Publishing will address the issues of illiteracy, inaccessibility to affordable books, and sustainable job creation in developing markets. Education is one of the most important factors for long-term sustainable international development and accessibility to books must be increased substantially to combat this issue. Doing this through a market-driven solution rather than aid-based will create jobs within local markets that will in turn increase earned income in families. The programs and products executed by Borderless Books will be focused on empowering people through literacy for a price they can afford.
2. I was sitting in my international law class when I realized during our discussion that the creation of international legal infrastructure was, to a large extent, driven by business. During my time in Africa, I began to view international development differently from the traditional aid-based approach. While immediate relief is necessary, I am passionate about bridging arbitrary borders through sharing stories and creating long-term value from within a society. Borderless Books will create a distribution infrastructure that is adaptable to the already existing framework in rural and urban areas of East Africa.
3. Digital copies of books will be obtained by Borderless Books through partnerships with publishers, libraries, and individuals. Borderless Books will create a mobile print-on-demand system through which access to books will be increased in rural regions. The books will be sold at an affordable price based on local market forces. In urban areas, books will be delivered by local boda boda drivers for a monthly subscription fee.
