GloStream

gloStream was founded by two software developers who met on a Web site dedicated to the exchange of IT projects over the Internet. The two technology professionals with a gift for translating ideas into technological reality came together to found gloStream and begin developing gloEMR, their flagship electronic medical record (EMR) product.

In 2006, technology veteran Mike Sappington joined gloStream as CEO and has been developing and implementing the company�s business strategies and overseeing day-to-day operations. Many doctors in different specialties work closely with gloStream�s software research and development team to ensure the company�s EMR software meets patient, clinical and administrative practice standards.

gloEMR couples advanced voice recognition with dynamic templates built on the Microsoft platform to allow physicians to shape electronic documents to the way they practice. The application provides single-click access to a full range of patient data and clinical decision tools and converts, in real time, the dictation of physicians’ notes into precise and accurate documents. During a patient exam, for example, physicians can dynamically pull data relating to the patient from a clinical database. With a single click, the patient’s complete history is displayed showing medications, labs, orders and other vital information. In addition, physicians can easily configure and adjust templates and information within exam notes so that each record correlates specifically to a patient’s particular examination.

In developing gloEMR, the programming team gathers all the nuances of the way a doctor�s office operates and applies their creativity and technical proficiency to build an application that is easy for physicians to use and expand as the number of patients and providers in their practice grows.
