Flooding events, due to hurricanes, heavy rains and large snow melts put many millions of people in peril every year. This is a project to construct online mashups of flood related elements to help people evaluate the bigger flooding picture.

I really could use the help of a person who knows how to do KML layers in Google Earth. About KML - Google Earth User Guide You can use KML to share places and information with other users of Google Earth and Google Maps. You can find example KML files on the KML Gallery and ... earth.google.com/userguide/v4/ug_kml.html

Think about what data streams would be available for weather data, rain guage data, lat/long placement. River water level guages, stream velocity, online video of rivers with geoplacement, or any other information.
There is a great tool at Qrowd.com to invent widgets for this or any other project for data mashups. Send me an email with your thoughts and joing the followers of this project. Your involvement could save thousands of lives and Billions of dollars in infrastructure if we could get this thing working. How is that for Social Entrepreneurialism.
