OUR NEWS

ABOUT US
The University of Toronto's libraries expel thousands of books every year because of a lack of space. Not all of the books manage to be re-distributed through book sales.
On the other side of the planet, main private and public universities in the southern hemisphere lack the sufficient amount of educational facilities (like books) to offer a decent educational experience to their students. The University of Toronto Entrepreneurial Society decided to take action to adjust the imbalances observed on the two poles of the global economic divide.
We are currently establishing contact with several learning institutions worldwide in order to redistribute surplus educational resources towards those schools and universities that need them the most. This project is currently under way, as we are working with the University and postal delivery services, along with local contacts in the hope to have educational facilities distributed in late 2009.
Through the implementation of the Educational Supplies Utilization Initiative, we hope to empower local populations as independent educated actors in the global fight against poverty and political instability. We also aim to help the world attain the Millennium Development Goals by 2015.
The full plan to redistribute textbooks and other educational resources from our libraries at the University of Toronto to schools around the world, will be available to download soon.
