ABOUT US
The goal of Elecar Inc. is to facilitate mass adoption of electric vehicles by creating the most scalable and efficient charging infrastructure, thus ending the US and world’s addiction to oil and its virtual monopoly on our economy, national security, and environment.
There are 250 million cars on the road in the US today and there will be 120 million new drivers on the road in the US by 2012 (80 million new cars, 40 million used cars). There is then the incredible opportunity to replicate and scale to millions of customers worldwide. The worldwide emerging electric car industry represents a $6 - $10 trillion-dollar market opportunity as it also coincides with renewable energy production and other green technology industries.
Facilitating the emergence of an electric vehicle industry is perhaps the most important initiative and market opportunity of our time. There is a great need for a cost-effective, intuitive, and weatherproof charging station that has a retractable cord, easy payment system, and web interface that is attractive for homes, businesses, and utilities alike. Currently, there is no cost effective device that can service homes or businesses. The is no device that is extremely intuitive, easy to use, and attractive. Also there is no solution for cord management. There is also no comparable device that is simple, sturdy, and weather-proof. Lastly, there is no good solution for easy payment and access for public charging stations.
I started Elecar Inc, to solve this problem in the industry, which is becoming a roadblock for carmakers and utilities alike. Elecar Inc. is developing a cost effective solution for electric vehicle infrastructure for the future of electric transportation.
