ABOUT US
Regional Development Agency Backa was established on 28 April 2010. in Novi Sad, in accordance with the Law on Regional Development.
The founders of the development agencies are thirteen local authorities in the territory of Backa, as follows: BAC, Backa Palanka, Jastrebarsko, Beocin, Becej, Srbobran, Sremski Karlovci Odžaci, Kula, Vrbas, Titel, Žabalj and Sombor.
Cultivating the principle of public-private partnerships, development agencies have joined the founders and other entities of public and private sectors: Novi Sad television, Slovan Progres - Selenča, Recycling Center Ilic brothers - Backa Palanka, I2R Ltd. Novi Sad, the European Movement in Serbia - Novi Sad, Center for Organic Production - Selenča.
Regional Development Agency has Backa total of 19 founders.
The initiative for the establishment of the Regional Development Agencies Backa was accepted by the municipality of Backa, in order to jointly cooperate and engage in projects, through domestic and foreign programs, with the aim of strengthening of local governments and improving the general socio-economic development of the territory in which they operate.
Regional Development Agency has following sectors:
Department for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises, youth and social entrepreneurship
Department for municipal development, inter-sectoral collaboration and strategic planning
Department of Sustainable Development and Renewable Energy
Department of interregional and international cooperation
Strengthening the institutional capacity of local governments, promote and support the implementation of development programs and projects at local and regional level, strengthening of human capital through training and professional development, particularly in strengthening the sector of small and medium enterprises, project management, as well as support the development of agriculture, tourism development and other sectors related to the improvement of socio-economic development of the territory in which it operates.
