ABOUT US
Over the last 10 years a variety of atoms, molecules, 1-d crystals have been placed within the nanotubes and the properties of these species have been studied both experimentally and theoretically. In Oxford a large amount of synthetic work has been reported on the filling of carbon nanotubes with various metal halides and metal oxides.
I am very much interested in studying the electronic properties of 1-d crystals encapsulated within single walled nanotubes using density functional theory (DFT) methods.
