ABOUT US
College Mogul was co-founded in February 2008 by student entrepreneurs Alex Lindahl, Miles Lennon and Henry Khachatryan.
Collegiate entrepreneurship is on the rise and college students enjoy following their peers’ entrepreneurial endeavors, but there is yet to exist a comprehensive resource that follows, tracks, aids and promotes all entrepreneurial activity, which we broadly define to include launches of all student-led ventures, organizations and movements. College Mogul aims to cover the growing trend of collegiate entrepreneurship while providing valuable resources to support its development and growth.

I was born in Stamford, CT and spent four years living in Greenwich until moving to Westport in 1990 where stayed until my graduation from Staples High School. Miles and I became good friends early on at Staples and discovered quickly that we shared an interest building small businesses.
Creativity and a the desire to learn new skills has always been with me throughout my life, starting with Legos and continuing now with several ventures. Entrepreneurship has always been a part of me; I am inspired by my father, who built one of the most prestigious currency managing firms in the world and my Grandfather who grew an enterprise of small businesses to help develop a small town, Pojoaque, in New Mexico. Since early on in high school, I have been involved in some sort of entrepreneurial venture, starting Rock On Recordings and South American Style with Miles, giving guitar lessons, manging my own painting branch for Collegiate Entrepreneurs, starting my own painting company, Eagle Painting Services, LLC, and now finally working on Textworks and College Mogul.
Although I have never particularly liked school and I abhor the busywork, memorization, and the strict rules that govern every aspect of school, I somehow made it into Boston College where I will be receiving a Bachelors in Finance. I would have studied entrepreneurship, but few classes are offered and finance seemed like something concrete to fall back on. I was thinking of a double major or some minors, but decided instead to take a handful of different classes in several areas. Right now I am dabbling in web development, which for the moment, has piqued my interest. My favorite class has been Venture Capital.
I also enjoy skiing, learning musical instruments (guitar, bass and drums to name a couple), anything to do with music really, weight lifting, playing guitar, acting goofy with friends, and embarrassing myself in bars and dance clubs with my uniquely terrible dance moves.
I hope to continue growing my entrepreneurial skill set, sharing what I have learned already, growing these two companies and hopefully one day helping others grow their companies as well. I also aim to get more involved in social entrepreneurship and green technology later on in life.
Feel free to check out my LinkedIn profile or Facebook profile and add me to your contacts; I am always interested in meeting and networking with like-minded people.

I was born in the Big Apple and spent the first seven years of my life there before I moved to Westport, Connecticut in 1994 where I remained throughout high school. It was in Westport that I first met Alex and we’ve been close friends and business partners ever since.
I’ve always dreamed of achieving something great, which in my mind has always meant starting something. During my high school years, Alex and I co-founded Rock On Recordings, a portable live recording company and South American Style, an Ecuadorian artisan-work import business. Neither of them went public (I believe we made a couple thousand bucks between the two businesses), but I still learned a few valuable lessons, namely that entrepreneurship is undoubtedly “hard fun.”
I started college at Tufts University in 2004, but transferred after a very short while to Columbia University due to unfortunate medical circumstances that required me to be in Manhattan. I don’t know what my life might have been like had I been able to stay at Tufts, but I can say for sure that I had a great time here. I will be receiving a Bachelor of Arts in Mathematics and Economics.
For a while I eagerly pursued a career in finance, holding internships in private equity and investment banking (for more of the boring details you can check out my profile on LinkedIn). Last fall, I received the highly coveted full-time offer in investment banking, but chose instead to pursue my passion for entrepreneurship. I have since been balancing a part-time school schedule with the development of Textworks and CollegeMogul, two start-ups I have co-founded with Alex.
My experiences have given me a unique perspective on student entrepreneurship such as business planning, fund raising, recruiting and development, but I hope to learn a great deal more through CollegeMogul’s coverage.
Henry Khachatryan, Co-Founder and Webmaster
I was born in Armenia, a small landlocked country located to the north of Iran. I lived in the capital city of Yerevan for seven years before moving to Belmont, MA with my parents.
Though nearly my entire family consisted of doctors, I was quickly drawn into entrepreneurship during my early years of high school. I immediately began my study of the topic by consulting with my Economics professor, and former entrepreneur himself, about starting up the Entrepreneurship Club at my high school. After recruiting a good number of members we sat out to discuss and plan out future endeavors as well as familiarize ourselves with what it meant to be an entrepreneur. It was towards the end of my high school career that I realized I could combine my technical skills with my entrepreneurial desires.
Though I had envisioned myself becoming an investment banker someday, it became clear to me in college that I had to take a risk and attempt to establish myself as an entrepreneur. With the emergence of Web 2.0, I became more and more entrenched in social web development. After 4 years of web development experience under my belt, including stints as webmaster of Computer.com and Software.com, I launched my own web development company last fall and began consulting in the area of social media development.
I met Alex in the many classes we attend together at Boston College and naturally we became friends through our shared desire to create something great from the ground up. I will be graduating this May with a dual degree in Finance and Information Systems.
