FULL BIO

Through an invitation from the local school's Drama Teacher I have co written/ directed/ produced/ costume and set designed(sew, paint, build)/ choreographed the annual primary school drama production consisting of a cast of 80, 11 and 12 year olds(and to think the business world scares me) for the past 8 years. Although, the oppressive attitude of the schools admin that drama is of small consideration has made it impossible in the past couple of years to facilitate a production.

I am witnessing children lose their capacity to connect with their imaginations, 10 years ago I could get kids up to 12 years old to dress up and take on characters in their drama driven birthday experiences, over the past 5 years my audience has regressed to under 6 year olds.
These events have led me to develop Treehouse Secrets which are venues with an array of sensory enviroments that share the joy of theatrical interactive entertainment. Catering to small audiences of 15 - 20 participants, using many small areas to circulate numbers to satisfy the needed profit to run such a venture. I have blended a balance of entertainment, interaction, connection and sensory environments perfect for tourist destinations around the globe. Treehouse Secrets franchise prototype is ready to be functional within 8 months of obtaining investment.
Further developements has me formulating venues for shopping centres using the Kindermusik pre school music program, GRaSP a program that awakens awareness of the Mind/Body system and coaches the individual in self awareness as a whole, and of course interactive theatrical entertainment on the late nights and weekends. I'm also creating programs for singles nights for these venues that uses play as the premise to get to know people.
My intention was to open Treehouse Secrets-the Adventure at Surfers Paradise(as this is the only viable Tourist site in Australia) and the concept was welcomed by the shakers and movers that are instrumental in entertainment there, but with the collapse of the property development companies that has left Surfers looking like ground zero and the collapse of the economic situation, I was forced to develop the downsized Treehouse Secrets for the shopping centres, which were actually planned as an extention of the original idea and would have grown from Surfers/2nd site after the franchise had been proven.
$1.7M is needed for the full version or $800,000 for the Shopping Centre versions. Both concepts will be offered to investors. As two successful operations are needed to establish a franchise, the shopping centres are looking as a more viable option to attract investors.

WORK EXPERIENCE

Employer: Party and Play - Phillip Island
Position: imagineer
Time period: December 2001 - November 2009
Description: I started 20 years ago making children's dress ups and selling through the lucrative hand made craft market industry. I then developed 'Make Believe' a range of 'create yourself' wand kits, star mobiles etc., a range of 7 products that retailed for under $9.95 each, intended for the toy store market. My immaturity saw me perfect manufacturing without a sound marketing stratergy or skills. I also invested heavily into black and white packaging(to stand out on the shelf in the over coloured world of plastic toys) only to have generic packaging for groceries introduced at the same time. I survived but it was never the business it could have been, because I wasn't the person I am now.

I currently work in a toy store and have hosted over 500 themed children's birthday parties and holiday programs for the past 7 years, in a community of 6,000 locals(swelling to 50,000 in holiday periods). Which means I have to keep all the parties original and fresh as the same children visit many parties and would bore easily if I were not to keep challenging their imaginations.

I can see and feel a change in parental attitudes to be more in the moment with their children and this inspires and motivates me to provide venues.

Position: Operation Manager
Time period: December 1983 - November 1989
Description: I was lucky enough to start a delivery position for a family run pastry manufacturers, where I learned the ropes hands on and worked my way up to Operations Manager. I personally dealt with our customers of the callibre of David Jones, Myer and Brumby's Franchise.
