FULL BIO
• Within 12 months of launch, loaded became Britain’s leading Men’s magazine in terms of circulation, advertising revenue and public profile. I was Deputy Editor.
• I was profiled by Vanity Fair magazine in their famous ‘Cool Britannia issue in 1996’
• Loaded became so notorious that Home Secretary Jack Straw saw fit – in The House Of Commons - to coin the phrase ‘the loaded generation’ to describe young British men between the ages of 18-35.
• Wrote the critically acclaimed book ‘Getting Away With It: The Inside Story Of Loaded’.
• On my return to Loaded as Editor in November 1998 I oversaw a 35% increase in advertising revenue courtesy of a return to loaded’s core values – a sense of fun, style, adventure, self-effacing humour and class. Circulation when I left was 385,000.
• Conceptualised and orchestrated the inaugural ‘Loaded Awards ceremony’ in 1999, catapulting the loaded brand back into the limelight by enticing the likes of Noel Gallagher, All Saints, Luke Rhinehart, Paul Weller, Robert Carlisle, Johnny Vaughan, George Best, Irvine Welsh, Kathy Burke, Steve Coogan, Richard Whitely and err, Wolf to attend.
• In January 2000, I addressed the Oxford Union on the state of the British male and the history of loaded.
• Loaded entered the 2001 Guinness Book Of World Records for having 100 different covers of the same issue.
• For Switch2.net I produced a series of comedy sketches, music documentaries and oversaw what, at the time, was the world’s biggest live web-cast when Travis played in Boston.
• At KYN Publishing, I launched GolfPunk magazine in 2004. It is now Britain’s fastest growing sports magazine with a UK circulation of 22,000, advertising and sponsorship revenues circa £850k and three international licences in Italy, Germany and Indonesia.
• Conceptualized and orchestrated ‘The GolfPunk Clubhouse’, a seven-night residence for the magazine located at a pub/hotel British Open golf championship venues.
• GolfPunk named as one of Britain’s Best 20 Magazines by The Media Guardian.
• Numerous television appearances including the award-winning Channel 4 documentaries ‘Dice Man’ and ‘Hell Raisers’; BBC2’s ‘I Love 1994’; BBC2’s The History Of men’s Magazines’; Channel 4’s Catherine Zeta Jones Documentary November 2003), and various Channel 4 ‘Top 10s’ including ‘TV Cops’ and ‘TV Babes’. I have also appeared regularly as social commentator on Radio 5 and Talk Sport and have been profiled in various broadsheet media pages including The Guardian, Times, Telegraph and Independent.
