Currently Tom owns and operates two McDonald’s franchises located in Whistler and Pemberton, B.C. and is President of the real estate firm, Horler Holdings Ltd.

Tom Horler has been a Whistler resident since moving here from Hong Kong 1993.
He makes his home with his wife Yoshiko and their two young children Beverley and Hugh in the Tapley’s Farm area.
He currently sits as Chairman of the Board of Whistler’s Chamber of Commerce.
Tom’s long tem commitment to the Resort Community of Whistler was recently recognized with award of:
Business Person of the Year 2007
His commitment to community has a long and diversified history. Continued to this day!
He was a Director for many years of the Whistler Valley Housing Society and its interim Chairman back in the early 90’s.
This Society provided the bedrock foundation of the Whistler Housing Authority whose current mandate is to help ensure that 75% of Whistler’s year round resident workforce resides with municipal boundaries.
In addition he has sat a Director at Large for Tourism Whistler.
To add to the above, his past leadership skills were honed and demonstrated though experience taken as:
• Director and subsequent President, Whistler Museum and Archives Society,
• Past Rotary Club member
• Director, Canada Place Corporation,
• Bid Ambassador; Vancouver Olympic Bid Corp.
He moved here after having spent over a decade and a half in International Marketing within the McDonald’s Corporation
His extensive business skills and responsibilities were demonstrated with a wide range of marketing responsibilities from not only within the continent of North America but was most recently, the Director of Marketing – Asia/Pacific, dealing within diverse areas of Social, Economic and Environmental issues.
