WORK EXPERIENCE
| Employer: | Korean Advanced Institute of Science and Technology |
| Position: | Work Experience |
| Time period: | December 2000 - Present |
| Description: | My responsibilities: I was in a software engineering lab where I had the opportunity to work on the following projects:
• Developing a test suite for interoperability between different platforms for the Korean Defense Ministry Developed a suite of taste conditions for checking interoperability between different platforms (like J2EE and .NET) so that Model Driven Architecture (MDA) can easily be achieved. The objective is to locate the major source of interoperability problems during Enterprise Architecture Integration (EAI) of B2B software that runs on different platforms/middleware. I was the project leader and was in charge of understanding how each middleware accomplishes the different services it provides and identify the possible incompatibilities. • Software development: took part in developing software that is used for aircraft maintenance management. I was involved in all stages of the development phase including requirement elicitation, analysis, design, programming, and testing. We used Java language in general and EJB in particular for this project. • Developing a strategy and a middleware: I took part in designing a strategy on how to develop a common operating environment (platform/middleware) just like J2EE and .NET for the Korean Defense Forces. I was involved in developing a part of the system using J2EE. We also developed some parts of the middleware and developed a web based application to show the relevance of our platform. • Introduction of new technology: I took part in a project for developing a software product line for managing different technical and tactical standards of Korean Air Force. Software Product line is a methodology used for developing similar software with much more efficiency than starting all over from scratch in much the same way different mobile phones from the same company are not individually built from scratch rather use the knowledge from another similar mobile phone. I was involved in using new technology (aspect oriented technology and a new proposed idea in our laboratory) in modeling the product line. We used AspectJ, a Java based aspect oriented programming language, to develop the product line. |
