Description: Smart Home System
The major goal of the project is to move a step forward in the field of Energy saving systems by help the home users reduce the consumption of electric power in the home.
It consists of two subsystems connected via internet and a central Database that enable home users to remotely control their home via internet; also enable the user to switch on/off any node in the home or select one of a predefined or customized profiles, and provides statistics about the consumption of electric power and how to save it for any node at home during a specific period.
We also designed a sample hardware consists of relays, diodes, and transistors to transfer control from the local PC to all home devices via parallel port.
We used Visual Studio 2008(vb.net, asp.net) and Sql server 2008 in developing this project.
