WORK EXPERIENCE

Employer: FishTwits Ltd.
Position: Owner, Director and CEO
Description: FishTwits is a social media communication hub for recreational fishermen worldwide. My two partners and I run and manage this company on a part-time basis outside of regular working hours.

Employer: Bristows Law Firm
Position: Paralegal, IP Litigation Department
Time period: January 2007 - December 2008
Description: Duties: I was recruited to Bristows as a paralegal in the IP Litigation Department, working almost exclusively on a pharmaceutical lifecycle management project for one of the big pharma companies top selling drugs. My primary duties included information management, attending teleconferences, writing minutes and drafting and reviewing expert reports. Bristows was in charge of managing patent litigation throughout Europe as well as in some Asian and South American countries which allowed me to gain a wealth of experience in patent and regulatory law as well as litigation strategies in numerous jurisdictions.

Contribution to the Organisation: I recognised the potential to better organise, update and present the enormous volume of information generated on the project. I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity to design and manage the implementation of a web based database application and finally to present this to senior management. The project resulted in both improved internal efficiency and a better experience for the client in accessing strategic information.

Employer: Harvey Norman Computers, Canberra
Position: Salesperson
Time period: January 2003 - December 2006
Description: Duties: My primary duty was as a salesperson for computer related goods including, laptops, digital cameras, GPS units, networking and printing. I developed further skills in organising finance and rental contracts, merchandising, logistics and digital photo processing.

Contribution to the Organisation: I consistently ranked within the top three sales people for the month. Further I took every opportunity to learn new skills required for working outside of sales, within the organisation, making me a valuable and versatile member of the team. This enabled me to take on a leadership role in the training of new staff.
