Description: • An independent initiative of students, supported by the institute and ASES (Asia Pacific Student Entrepreneurship Society)
• Involved in creating and setting up of a database to provide consultancy services to student start-up entrepreneurial ventures, the first such service in India
• Heading a team of 20 students working to provide consultancy services with respect to intellectual property, funding options, market opportunities, exit options etc.

Description: • Responsible for handling a budget of 1 million INR to promote entrepreneurship amongst students
• Actively involved in the initiating and setting up of a technology business incubator in the institute.
• Spearheading efforts for the creation of an alumni-student professional networking site to aid business ventures.
• Handling the “Contribution of IITs towards Entrepreneurship” exhibition to be showcased at the Pan IIT Global Summit scheduled in Dec 2008
• In-charge of organizing Breakthrough, a national level business plan competition, which brings in participation of over 150 student teams all over the country

Description: • Explored the option of replacing electrical interconnects in present day chips with optical interconnects
• Compared the technology with previously presented alternatives for higher bandwidths and lesser power
• Key deliverables included a comparative study of the various forms of optical interconnections that could be employed viz, free space optics and guided wave interconnects.
• Proposed a hierarchical system, employing suitable optical interconnects at board-to-board, chip-to-chip and onchip levels to achieve optimum system performance, which was accepted for review.

Description: • Part of a team responsible for handling and bringing in funds through corporate sponsorships, to the tune of 5 million INR, for Saarang, the institute’s annual cultural festival, one of the biggest such events in the country.

Position: Summer Consultant, Antenna Lab, IIT Bombay
Time period: May 2007 - July 2007
Description: • Worked on the designing of microwave filters using literature surveys and commercially available softwares.
• Key deliverables included waveguide filter designs for GSM and Wi-Max applications which were approved by Prof Girish Kumar of IIT Bombay, heading the research, for commercial manufacture
• Performed a survey of the existing firms dealing with microwave filter designing and manufacturing, both at the national and global levels
• The findings were used to help Wilcom understand its market and competitors.

Description: • An entrepreneurial venture of a few students from the institute, Technikon is a magazine for undergraduate and graduate engineering students providing career counseling and soft skill training.
• The work profile included collecting, writing and publishing articles and tutorials for the magazine along with training new members.
• Responsibilities also included managing trial publicity and distribution plans.
• The initial response to the magazine launch has been quite encouraging with the magazine gearing up for full scale market launch.

Time period: December 2007
Description: • Assisted in a research project on asset allocation and equity investment strategies
• Worked with proprietary tools to carry out secondary research and gather information on different industries
• Key deliverables included the compilation of a ready referral outlining various portfolio investment strategies and the corresponding profiles, to be used by the company for HR training purposes.
