Position: General Manager/Senior Vice President

Description: ESR Technology is the former Atomic Energy Agency which was formerly owned by the UK Government and was established over 40 years ago. I am responsible for the entire Middle East set-up of the company at Dubai Airport Free Zone Authority.
My responsibilities include all recruitment and head hunting of our safety, risk and engineering specialists in the oil and gas, power generation and aviation divisions of the company; all Middle East marketing and Public Relations activity, reputation management; market intelligence, commercial contract negotiation, generation and implementation; budgetary controls; developing new and existing business.

Employer: The Platinum Group FZ LLC
Position: Managing Director
Time period: August 2005 - July 2007
Description: I wholly owned The Platinum Group which had three divisions: Marketing and Public Relations; Training and Conferences; Recruitment Head Hunting. The commercial training division offered bespoke public training programmes in oil, gas, energy, safety and risk, marketing, public relations and media training. These training programmes were marketed throughout the GCC and Egypt to a large and focused data base. The PR & Marketing division handled a variety of clients including Dubai Community Theatre and Arts Centre, Global Furniture Solutions and Metallica. The head hunting division was a natural fit with the rest of the company and we handled many UK based clients and identified and placed many professionals in the oil, gas and aviation professions. The company was sold in July 2007.

Employer: IIR Holdings LLC Middle East

Time period: November 1994 - July 2005
Description: I began a successful 10 year career with IIR Holdings as a Conference Director when the company employed eight people and had a t/o of less than a US$1 million. I produced high level strategic conferences in oil and gas, energy, finance, retail, steel, banking, marketing and health in addition to training programmes in each of these areas. During the following 10 years, the company grew to a t/o of US$44 million and a total production output of 420 events per annum. During this time, I was responsible for staff recruitment, customer service, all commercial contract negotiation, product development, company strategy, guru events, strategic development and growth.
In my final two years with the company, I ran the conference and training division which employed over 100 people. I was responsible for increasing the t/o from US$33 million and a net profitability of 7% per annum in 2003 to US$44 million and a net profitability of 11% in my final year.

Time period: January 1994 - November 1994
Description: I was responsible for winning PR accounts such as Samsung Middle East and ITT Sheraton Middle East and Africa totaling US$3million in fee income. I handled accounts such as Airbus, Emirates Airline, Samsung, ITT Sheraton and IIR Holdings. I generated many press releases, creative campaigns and wrote hundreds of press articles and features.

Description: I wholly owned Park PR and presented for and won such blue chip business as Dryborough Breweries, Kelly Girl UK, Impact Holidays UK and Europe, and The Samaritans UK (pro bono). The company t/o was GBP1.5million in fee income. When I sold the company – I took a year out to complete my MBA.

Time period: January 1975 - December 1984
Description: I began with Struthers as Media Manager with billings of GBP600,000. We grew to become the most prestigious and highly respected advertising agency north of Watford at the time. By 1981, we were billing GBP16 million in advertising revenue with some of the most exciting and innovative campaigns imaginable including Glasgow’s Miles Better, the Royal Bank of Scotland, South of Scotland Electricity Board and Hall’s of Broxburn.
