Description:
I became involved with designing and marketing Adaptive Clothing for People with Disabilities as a result of the needs of family members and close family friends. I have worked in this area, part time, during this time. In 2008, one of the Conference presentations I made was at the International Pacific Rim Disability Conference where I produced a Fashion Show / discussion presentation on Adaptive Clothing. This presentation was done in front of a lunch audience of over 1000 service providers from over 40 countries. I have presented at a number of International Conferences in addition to this.

Description:
The Crane Library and Resource Centre was established to provide academic support to Blind and Visually impaired students at the University of British Columbia. My primary duties allowed me to work with the students we served on a daily basis and to ensure that their required textbooks were transcribed onto audio cassette and that all office, University, national and international records regarding these transcriptions be kept up to date. As well as working with UBC students I also handled all aspects of commercial sale and inter-library loan of our audio and Braille productions, throughout North America. As needed I would also provide support on all adapted and specialized equipment, assisted new staff in related offices through out Canada learn the procedures of alternate format production and handling. I often acted as liaison between the students and University faculty. As the office has a very small staff I frequently was responsible for the full day to day operation.

Description:
The MacMillan Library supports the Forestry and Agriculture Faculties at UBC. I provided full reference service to members of the UBC community and the general public. I was also responsible for the daily upkeep of the manual card catalogue and the over 500 journals that were received in the branch each month.
