Previously worked as Field Organizer at Obama Campaign for Change,Special Assistant to President of North Carolina Biofuels Center, and President of Cape Fear Biofuels Cooperative. Have also been working in the developing world market since 2007 in agriculture and renewable energy.

| Description: | Founded with the purpose of bringing renewable energy to the developing world. Currently we are focused on importing and
selling micro-solar lighting systems for peri-urban and rural Ugandan households. In the past we have also looked at agro- processing projects and developed a biomass-for-coal substation project for Tororo Cement Ltd. of Uganda, a project still in progress. We also developed and tested a wireless mesh cell network using low-cost, off-the-shelf technology in Uganda. |

| Description: | Single-handedly started and operated a central office in Ashland, WI, that served a rural region of about 7,000 square miles, an area larger than N. Ireland but slightly smaller than Slovenia, which comprised: Ashland, Bayfield, Iron, Price, and Sawyer Counties. The work involved coordinating 13 volunteer teams, creating five regional office hubs, running “Get-Out-the-Vote” campaigns on three Indian reservations, one university, and recruiting around 500 volunteers. The result was an increase in democratic turnout, compared to 2004, by an average of 5.6% in the five county region; a turnout of 69% in Ashland, the
second highest turnout of any county in Wisconsin, and the highest turnout in a rural area; and flipping Sawyer County into the democratic column for the first time in 12 years.. |
