FULL BIO

Randy is co-founder and president of Hydrocoal. He has been associated with the HydroCoal effort for many years and has developed a deep familiarity with the technology, markets and players. While HydroCoal has been incubating over the past two years, he has worked closely with the inventor and patent counsel to prepare patent applications, recruited an active advisory board, led the team to develop detailed business and operating plans, and begun to develop key accounts and strategic partnerships. He is currently responsible for building HydroCoal’s team, overseeing technical development with the CTO and Inventor, and strategic business development. He has a 25 years track record managing the development and market entry of new products based on breakthrough technologies, beginning with thin film computer disks during the early days of the personal computer industry. Most recently he was responsible for Marketing and Business Development at Taalee, a semantic search engine where he developed the strategic relationship with Voquette, which subsequently purchased the company. Previously, Randy conceived a family of wireless enterprise data applications as a means to drive traffic on GTE Wireless’s (now Verizon) network - they has built it but no one had come. Given overall responsibility, he led the development of a team of strategic partners to define the value proposition, develop and integrate the necessary hardware, software and network components, development of key customer accounts by field sales personnel and finally national rollout to GTE’s field sales teams. Randy studied physics and the anthropology of culture change at MIT before graduating with a BS with honors (Decision Sciences and Strategic Management) from the Wharton School. He is currently an MBA student at Kennesaw State University.
