FULL BIO
Paul Frankel is co-founder and Managing Director of Ecosa Capital Management where he advises many companies in the areas of clean tech and sustainable business on fundraising, management, and strategy. He also advises institutional, corporate and family office investors to identify investment opportunities in which resource efficiency and systemic sustainability are material sources of competitive advantage, driving superior financial returns.
Paul previously worked at 3Com Corporation where he was responsible for M&A, venture investments, and technology licensing for their wireless portfolio. He is a co-founder and the former vice-chairman of the Wi-Fi Alliance.
He is an industry fellow at the Center for Entrepreneurship and Technology at Berkeley and an associate at the Center for the Study of Fiduciary Capitalism at St. Mary¹s College. He was the fundraising chair for the 2007 California Cleantech Open and judging chair of the renewable energy committee for the competition in 2006. He also sits on the Business Advisory Committee of the Roots of Change fund.
At UC Berkeley, Paul teaches innovation & entrepreneurship at the College of Engineering and social entrepreneurship at the Haas School of Business. He teaches environmental entrepreneurship at Stanford University in the Earth Systems and Political Science departments.
