As Head of IT for Heathrow Airport reported to the board on IT effectiveness and performance and worked with the Group CIO to drive and improve project and service delivery.
KEY ACHIEVEMENTS
- Heathrow Transformation Programme - Strategy development and management of the £50m p.a. portfolio to invest in opportunities to deliver real business value and a defined return on investment
Investments include the Resource Management Planning and Scheduling systems covering all staff and facilities, generating £20m benefits per annum.
- Managing Consultant responsible for winning significant new business at a critical time in the growth of a young organisation and the development of the team of consultants.
- For a major Investment Bank managed the Scope and Planning Phase of the Programme to deliver a global system to support its Services and Private Banking strategy.
Production of the Business Case to justify the investment of £45m and structured the programme to address Business Process Design and architecture design.
- Reporting to General Manager, Services. Built and developed the Project Services Division responsible for 10% of company turnover (consisting of £5 million of project services and £45 million of hardware/software solutions per annum).
- Programme Manager and Bid Manager for the £350 million services and supply contract. Key to the success was producing the proposal and presenting the bid with the new business director.

This work was included in the government consultation paper and 10 year capital plan, including Business Case Development and Benefits Realisation Plan. - Responsible for the investment portfolio to ensure alignment with business strategy and priorities for the delivery of optimum benefits from the change programmes and technology investments. - Proactively developed and managed the relationships with key stakeholders and senior airline representatives. Through a joint strategy group created the shared services strategy that improved service and reduced costs in the airport community. - Identified new opportunities for innovation and exploiting technology across the business functions at Heathrow. - Used Hot-housing techniques to stimulate and drive innovation within the business. - Developed opportunities for business performance improvement through the exploitation of information and technology. - Improved Customer Experience through self service products and real-time SLA performance dashboard. - Defined the solutions programme within Heathrow’s Business Transformation Programme, including Business Case Development and Benefits Realisation Plan.
