• Supervise activities and procedure as well as handle unusual problems and issuing proactive and reactive instructions to handle daily activities.
• Allocating new projects to project managers according to work load and experience.
• Making sure that each project manager handles their project as per followed standards and procedures.
• Taking remedial and reactive measures to overcome any delay or deviation from the time schedule or contract.
• Follow-up on site visit, technical data collection and meeting with the client to agree on the final design and specifications prior to fabrication.
• Coordinating with the Technical Department on arising technical issues, shop drawings and atypical production orders.
• Supervise project managers in offering engineering solutions and advice to problems or recommendations and overcoming any delays in the work schedule.
• Monitoring the progress of the project and performance through the planning personnel and making sure that the project proceeds according to work plan.
• Timely delivery of raw materials needed or the availability or the availability of these materials in stock.
• Follow up internally, on the Production Department, to overcome any problems so as not affect the site program or commitment and schedule and arrange recourses needed for installation.
• Preparing monthly cash flow budget as per cash flow budgets presented by each project manager. Financially follow-up with clients to make sure that they abide by terms of payments stated in contract.
• Supervise final handing over of the project and follow-up on any snag list.
• Preparing monthly, quarterly projects report; status, problems, financial status …etc…
• Issuing production plan for the production department as per project schedules.

Description: * Company comprises of various divisions, but can be summarized into following divisions:

• Business Solution Division which incorporated Office Furniture Dept., Office Equipment Dept. and Engineering Department. Agents for various international renowned Office Furniture Manufactures (Herman Miller, HNI, Milliken Carpet, Bernhardt, Le-Al…) and Office Equipment Manufactures (Nashuatec, NRG, OCE).

• Consumer Goods Divisions (FMCG) which incorporated storage and wholesale distribution of food products (Dry & Frozen) (i.e: McCain), Supply / logistics for McDonalds Bahrain, sponsors for Baskin Robbins, Supermarket.

• Corporate business that handled the sponsoring of the various multinational companies that we represented in Bahrain such as Keller, Doosan,…..

Tasks, duties and activities:
• General Manager: All the duties of a General Manager.
• Business Development: seeking business opportunities in the market for all the activities of the company, but main focus was on furniture business as it was neglected in the years prior to my joining and main income for the company.
• Supervised the Office furniture division until September 2006. Managed to secure various contracts in Bahrain from financial institutions to private sectors. To name some, Al Ahli United Bank, Unicorn Investment Bank, Arcapita, Arab Banking Corporation, Investcorp, Gulf Air, Al Baraka Bank, GPIC, American Express Regional office (4 floors consisting of complete furniture settings and full height demountable partitions) which later developed to include all their branches in the Middle East. Universal Enterprises was back on the TOP three business solution providers in Bahrain, and were known for the high quality product range that it carried and the first class service provided.
• Managed to secure highest sales of Aeron chairs for Herman Miller in the history of the company, and achieved the set target for the first time in 9 years of the agency.
• Established contact with HNI in order to work on acquiring its agency due to my full conviction that it would achieve a better market share than Herman Miller products.
• Managed to conclude the first full turn key order for the company in neighboring countries consisting of full height demountable partition from Italy, Milliken Carpet, and HNI product mix consisting of (AllSteel, HON, Gunlocke).
