| Position: | Intranet Project Manager |
| Time period: | August 2007 - April 2008 |
| Description: | UIP (UNRWA Intranet Project)
Share Point Server 2007. SQL Server 2005. MySQL 4.0 and 5.0. PHP The UNRWA has over 26,000 Employees all over the agency. The agency has field offices in Jordan, Syria, Lebanon, Gaza and the West Bank. There are loads of information to be shared and communicated between the people inter the fields, and inter the agency. The solution for this is to have an intranet where all the fields and departments can share its information, and the work process with other departments. The intranet will also have forms and documents needed to carry out the departments day-to-day activates. 1) Develop the Project Plan and discuss it with the board. 2) Evaluate the options that we have for the intranet (Open Source, DotNetNuke, or SharePoint server). 3) The UNRWA already had an application build on PHP and MySQL and it never been used. So I installed it on a new machine and evaluated the application as well. 4) Build and follow up on the project schedule and the delivery phases. 5) Determining the Hardware and software required for the Intranet. 6) Issuing and following up on the purchase order of Hardware and software 7) Determine the connectivity options in order to connect the fields to the intranet. 8) Follow up on the standards and the user guides and manual. 9) Delivering the first phase of the project and work on the second phase. 10) Follow up on the team activities and ensure quality standards. 11) Ensure the backup of the intranet. 12) Determining the options to select a vendor since the intranet should eventually be hosted outside the UNRWA buildings. |
