Michael is a lawyer and registered patent and trade marks attorney specialising in patent protection. He has a PhD in neuroscience / pharmacology and a deep-seated passion for IT.
Michael is the consummate high-tech lawyer / patent attorney. He has industry experience working in human clinical trials & conducting pharmaceutical research in an academic area.
After leaving bench research, he became heavily involved in the IT sector, culminating in a role as head of IT for the Asia- Pacific region for a major finance organisation. He subsequently worked in the definitive technology hub, Silicon Valley, California.
He has worked both as a patent attorney and lawyer in patent attorney & corporate law firms.
Michael was an expert witness (technology) for the recording industry in its successful copyright infringement action in Australia against the operators of the Kazaa file sharing system (Universal Music v Sharman License Holdings). He has written many published articles on various aspects of patent law, as well as scientific publications & is a regular contributor to many high technology forums.
