I grew up around airplanes with my family owning a WWII aircraft restoration company and several aircraft museums. With growing up in this atmosphere, you learn pretty rapidly how to work with your hands and make special tools and parts for something that wasnt intended to last 40+ years.
I started racing bicycles when i was twelve years old, and rose to the professional level by the time I was 14 riding for such companies as Ellsworth, Dirt Works, and Nicolai. After a serious motorcycle accident in 2003, that left me wheelchair ridden for several months, I came to realize that I cannot make a carrier out of racing bicycles, but maybe within the industry.
While in high school I worked for a bicycle components manufacture out of England called Hope Technology (www.hopetech.com). While working here, I started my first business which was selling used and remanufactured bicycle parts online. This business grew rapidly as opportunities arose and shortly I found myself involved with starting my own bicycle shop and being the USA division of a bicycle manufacture from Germany.
Once out of high school, I found myself attending CSUSB as a math major. After my first quarter I found out that math was a boring subject and I became a business major with 2 concentrations, one in marketing and the other in entrepreneurship.
With graduation just around the corner, I recently purchased a 4,000 sq foot facility to move my bicycle shop into, and to have a place to design and test my new company's products, Bicycle Technical Tools, a tool company specific to the bicycle industry.
