Role includes analysis and identification of growth/innovation opportunities; design and implementation of staged growth/innovation programs; coaching clients in developing fresh perspectives, brainstorming/prioritizing opportunities and building business cases for early-stage investments; running internal “Dragons’ Den” events to pitch ideas for investment and support; project management. Example projects:
European Telecoms Company. Client team of 40, 3 colleagues, 5-month project. Coached client teams to identify broad growth areas and sell them to the senior managers at a “Venture Fair”.
European Food Manufacturer. UK and French client teams 6-8 members each, 3 colleagues, 4-month project. Worked with client to investigate customers, discontinuities, corporate and industrial orthodoxies, core competencies and business models. Coached client teams to analyze and identify growth opportunities and pitch them at a Dragons’ Den event to the European Management Team. First new product launched Q1 2007 just one year after pitch.
Global Packaging Manufacturer. 50 clients, 2 colleagues, 6-month project. Designed and helped embed incremental and transformational innovation programs.
Mexican Conglomerate. Ran innovation program to transform five nascent ideas into ventures. Four ventures secured funding.
Global Media Company. Developed innovation project business plan and pitch with client team. Project was given green light and over £1M in funds by top management.
