Lauren G. Flanagan is currently seeking an opportunity to support global business development and advocate the optimization of e-commerce software solutions in an ever-changing global environment. With over 15 years of experience in the technology industry working with leading brands and well-known companies such as Hewlett-Packard, Lauren will apply her expertise in areas relating to new business development, marketing and sales. By utilizing new competencies in areas centered on communications, finance, and regulatory frameworks, Lauren is more readily capable to influence market share and gain competitive advantage. She has a proven track record developing and maintaining relationships with online retail brands and penetrating new markets that impact the bottom line. She formerly founded an internet marketing and sales consulting firm, Virtual Marketing and Sales, which provided business development, strategic planning, marketing, and client services support to start-up internet companies. Lauren holds a Master of Public Affairs (MPA) public management degree from Indiana University School of Public and Environmental Affairs (SPEA), a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in multimedia/new media concepts, and is certified in Negotiation and Dispute Resolution.

Position: Bill Status Clerk

Description: Serve as the Bill Status Clerk and support public affairs initiatives by conducting research in preparation of external communications by the Senate.
• Create legal record during Senate session of over 2,600 legislative actions including Senate Bills, Senate Resolutions, Joint Concurrent Resolutions, and House Concurrent Resolutions.
• Track Bill Status between the House of Representatives and the Senate by conducting electronic transition of session actions in collaboration with the Journal Clerk.
• Conduct extensive research using independent judgment, discretion, and initiative to prepare for external marketing programs for Indiana Senators.

Time period: April 2003 - January 2006
Description: Licensed in insurance, life and health, and Series 6 and 63 investment and law designations in order to manage, assess, invest, negotiate and track financial portfolios.
• Evaluated and analyzed goals to forecast the best course of action, consistently growing a book of business to over 200 clients.
• Generated a referral business by expanding knowledge with continuing education in the financial services field, leading to successfully managing investments and insurance policies worth over $15 million.
• Achieved the Pacesetter 1st 40 Award, resulting in selling over 40 policies in the first six months of business. The first female recipient in the upstate NY region in eight years.
• Built and maintained relations within the business community, such as law firms and business associations ultimately becoming the go-to-person in family planning.
• Sold book of business to the agency due to husband’s transfer to Indianapolis in January 2006.

Description: Founded a New Media Agency that provided strategic solutions for traditional and Internet companies looking to promote or sell products and/or services on the Internet. VMS was inspired by the idea that companies could outsource marketing, sales, and customer service to reduce internal human capital expenditures. Our team of 10 people customized a pathway to a leaner, more effective sales cycle and created a streamlined marketing approach ultimately leading to a substantive referral business.
• Retained the first 15 retailers in three days for a start-up web company located in New York City outperforming the internal sales staff by 100%. The effort converted to a contractual agreement to provide all sales, marketing, and customer care.
• Oversaw the administration of a marketing strategy centered on integrating voice recognition into a promotional product launch, resulting in winning Macromedia’s “Sites with Life” award.
• Chosen to promote a client’s website product on ABC News, “World This Morning” segment, leading to a jump of 88,863 impressions immediately following the national news broadcast.
• Featured in a full-page article in the New York Daily News highlighting a web site product. The publication resulted in an additional fifty retail accounts within thirty days.
• Retained by an advertising agency representing female-oriented web sites for online advertising with over 18,850,000 impressions per month and 2,543,000 unique hits per month. Generated advertising leads for the agency’s network of sites, leading to significant advertising revenue and an increase in the average cost per million (CPM) in terms of online ad revenue.
• Launched first Visual Prize Campaign through the New York Times, prompting hundreds of joint marketing projects with name brands and companies, such as ESPN, Women’s Sports Illustrated, and Warner Bros.
• Contracted by a major multi-national to help orchestrate and promote their international tradeshows and e-solutions products through the design of HTML targeted emails. The innovative way in which the emails were designed and delivered significantly increased new business leads and foot traffic to tradeshows.
• Chosen to provide marketing services for a web site company’s Initial Public offering (IPO). Prepared and presented materials in support of the road shows.
