• Launched a corporate transformation program for a Japanese major hypermarket to implement customer-based marketing, lean retailing, and capability building processes. Co-developed training programs with two associate colleagues, leveraging three industrial experts and a manager, to develop an 8-person McKinsey team. Rolled out the programs to 17 full-time dedicated client members aiming to increase operational profit by $100 million in their 185 nationwide stores within two years. • Led two projects for a global semiconductor manufacturer: reconstructed R&D process from marketing to volume production with 20% productivity improvement, and established marketing and channel strategy as well as operational schemes in China to enter the Chinese inland market. • Established product development and manufacturing strategies in China for a US-based global electric parts maker with Japan-based R&D. Identified solutions for improvement and implementation as well as the framework for cost reduction, leading to 30-40% reduction in its operational cost in China. • Played a lead role in launching the first lean transformation program in the Japanese counterpart of a US global vehicle assembly manufacturer. Coached an analyst and co-developed robust excel models, used for more than two years, to track key performance indicators cascaded from overall plant to each production area. Led client teams to implement management infrastructure and operational improvement in capacity, delivery, quality, safety and cost. Established consulting model for future manufacturing companies and awarded McKinsey honor for new consulting method of the year in Japan, one of the finalists for the Asian award. • Helped internal M&A teams multiple times to establish robust cost models and financial forecasts by adding operational and industrial points of view. |
