Katie Lips

Katie Lips is a mobile strategist and cofounder at "Little World Gifts" bringing sustainable happiness to mobile communities.

With a background in Art and Design & Management Katie later applied her creativity to technology design. She formed Kisky Netmedia in 2002 aiming to create web+mobile products and services. Katie’s experiences working with emerging mobile technologies and as an independent in a ‘walled garden’ of a mobile industry led her to employ hacky tactics when approaching service design.

Her new venture Little World Gifts is an international chain of boutique designer gift shops delivering high quality gifts on mobile platforms.

Little World Gifts will be big by being small; will grow by selling scarcity and irreverent luxury and will inspire by being humble, ethically aware and intelligently active. Little World Gifts supports design innovation initiatives to make giving even better. The company’s aim is to ‘leave the place better than we found it’.

Katie’s fascinated by personal, emotional and ‘meaningful’ mobile experiences and aims to build a sustainable, responsible and 'joyful' business. A maverick entrepreneur, Katie’s been creating innovative digital content across web and mobile platforms for over 10 years.

Katie’s an active speaker on Mobile 2.0 and a passionate iPhone addict, having written an early report on the emerging iPhone landscape “The Amazing iPhone”. Previously Katie cofounded Treasuremytext.com a mobile 2.0 startup which enables people to keep their treasured SMS messages forever. She also recently set up Appostles; a pan European collective of iPhone and Android application developers.
