WORK EXPERIENCE
| Employer: | Trading for Development |
| Position: | Member |
| Time period: | January 2004 - Present |
| Description: | Trading for Development shows that ethical business practices and high quality fashion products can
coexist in ways that bring development to poor communities. We do this through enhancing traditional skills of producers, building links with leading fashion houses and universities in Europe and marketing Fair trade products Worldwide. TFD was set up in 2004, first and foremost to campaign for Fair Trade and Trade Justice. We were involved in the formation of the first Fair Trade Shop in Oxford (fair-trade@StMichael’s) and are active members of the Oxford Fair Trade Coalition. Our work is associated with IFAT, the International Fair Trade Association <www.ifat.org> and BAFTS, British Association of Fair Trade Shops <www.bafts.org>, both pivotal in the global Fair Trade movement. In search of ways to improve the quality and marketability of Fair Trade products we, with other small businesses and designers founded the Ethical Fashion Forum www.ethicalfashionforum.com |
