Independently led Global Infrastructure investment team in 4-month deal process with Head of Alternatives at the China. Investment Corporation ($200 billion sovereign wealth fund) in Beijing, brokering a potential strategic partnership and up to $1 billion investment into the group’s infrastructure private equity platform. Spearheaded dialogue, negotiation, and seller interaction, resulting in the sourcing and valuation of portfolio of secondary private equity funds, both buyout and venture capital, from new endowment client (>$1 billion in assets). Successfully completed two of the largest secondary investments (over $30 million and $100 million) in the group since Neuberger’s spin-out, in which discounted purchase prices for 34 underlying companies purchased from 2000-2007 were submitted to General Partners to be acquired as portfolio assets in $1.7 billion NB Secondary Fund II (closed July 2008). |
