FULL BIO
I am passionate about using technology to shake up established industries.
With eCourier.co.uk I turned a personal frustration with same day courier services into one of the fastest-growing technology-enabled services companies in Europe (53 on the Sunday Times Microsoft Tech Track 100; 6 on the Deloitte Technology Fast 50).
We are powered by a technology platform which brings together mobile computing, Location Based Services, a Web 2.0 application, and a real-time optimisation algorithm we call 'Larry' which sits at the heart of the business, assigning orders to eCouriers and building routes in real time balancing client happiness, courier happiness, and fleet efficiency. This solves a fundamental problem in an industry which hasn't changed much since the 1970s--human dispatchers issuing work to couriers via radio causing low efficiency, high overheads, and diseconomies of scale.
